For reference: He's a strormtrooper, trained since childhood in any and every kind of combat, and he gets his ass handed by a scrap collector. She meets Finn and the first thing is she beats the living shit out of him. Maybe she likes droids more than humans because humans keep betraying her? That would be a really great reason, but we see ZERO to support this. Maybe she wants to keep it because that way she wouldn't be alone anymore? No, she actually wants to set it free. does she sell it to the scrap collector? That would make sense for such a character. We get to see this in every single shot in the first 15 minutes of that film. Rey is introduced as a scavenger and lone wolf in a dog-eat-dog world.
